Paul Holzhauer, Global Oil & Gas Segment
Paul Holzhauer Paul is a 36-year veteran of the information technology industry, studying mathematics and statistics followed by various positions beginning as an ACL programmer and spending the majority of his time with sales and marketing initiatives in the Oil & Gas industry. Paul views his role at NVIDIA with excitement and passion to help
raise the awareness of NVIDIA’s initiative of computing on GPU as appropriate solutions for the Oil & Gas industry segment. Paul’s role at NVIDIA is to promote the use of the GPU for compute.

Paul Holzhauer will discuss the impact of GPU Computing on the Oil & Gas industry. Geoscientist often dream of the creating the most accurate picture of the subsurface with insights into the physical characteristics of rocks and geologic structures. This capability creates the appropriate environment for geoscientists to make more informed decisions, more timely and most importantly, economically by exploiting the latest computing technology from NVIDIA GPUs.
Dick Bland, Director of Worldwide Energy Solutions
Dick Bland Dick Bland leads HP’s scalable HPC solutions in the Global Energy sector. He is responsible for developing and communicating HP’s strategy for integrated solutions in upstream Oil & Gas exploration and production. He develops strategic alliances with HP partners to deliver production ready HPC solutions. Dick collaborates with HP’s Global Energy team to support Oil & Gas customers worldwide. Prior to joining
HP, he led efforts at Intel and Cray Research to deliver new technologies for Oil & Gas HPC solutions worldwide.

Dick Bland will discuss the benefits of NVIDIA and HP technologies across the Oil & Gas workflow, including customer successes with GPU Computing, and how HP and NVIDIA are teaming up to deliver real business results. HP HPC clusters with NVIDIA Tesla GPUs will be featured, focusing on how they can transform the way solutions are delivered with industry standard infrastructure and data security requirements.
David B. Jackson, Founder and CTO
Adaptive Computing
David B. Jackson, Founder and CTO David Jackson is an established thought leader in adaptive enterprise data centers, cloud, and HPC environments. Over a period of sixteen years, David worked for several HPC centers, providing resource management and scheduling services to such leadership-class organizations as Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, San Diego
Supercomputer Center, National Center for Supercomputing Applications, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Maui High Performance Computing Center, and the Center for High Performance Computing. He also worked as a consultant at IBM’s AIX System Center. David is a founding member of the Global Grid Forum and a member of the Department of Energy’s Scalable System Software Initiative.
